An experimental improvisation workshop that approaches the body as a site of questioning, exploring perception, imagination, and reality through open-ended practices that blur the boundaries between action, emotion, and awareness.

Where: Tictac Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium

When: July 13 – 17 | 10:00 – 13:00 & 14:30 – 17:30

Doubting is already an impulse, a movement… The workshop takes improvisation a critical and embodied practice to (re)discover, question and expand the boundaries and potentialities of what constitutes the body. A way to access and question, what remains hidden or beneath under forms, concepts, habits or representation.

The workshop proposes different discussions and open instructions (NO score/NO task) based on text, sounds, random objects, relational encounters that invite the participants to research into the friction between what one imagines is happening and what is actually happening; exploring and deeping into the interval between projection and actuality. Performing and being. Affect and being affected. Emotion and movement. Joy and sorrow. Beat and rhythm. River and bodies.
Improvisation is thus understood not as a spontaneous expression, but as practice of awareness to emergence and urgency.
