In this workshop, Samantha will share some techniques developed by the company ZOO / Thomas Hauert.

Where: Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany

When: 21 & 22 March, 2026

Deadline for applications: 15 March,2026

Participants will be challenged to step out of their comfort zones, through moving in duos, trios, and group work, using spatial tasks or external input from fellow dancers (“assistants”).
Through these challenges the pallet of movement vocabulary and the response of the body, to these challenges, will be enlarged and create a state which enhances freedom for constant modification. Participants will also investigate different spatial tasks that allow them to connect to each other and create group movements. Juggling these elements they find theirselves in between improvising and instant choreographing. Samantha van Wissen joined in 1991 Rosas/Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, after following an education at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. Until 1997, she participated in numerous creations and performance. Since 1997, she has collaborated with Cie. ZOO/ Thomas Hauert. Samantha has taught workshops at P.A.R.T.S., the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, has been at ImPulsTanz Vienna since 2008 and collaborated with François Gremaud and Marc Vanrunxt. Together with her ZOO colleague Sara Ludi, she teaches dance classes for elderly people in Brussels.
