Tanaka Lionel Roki, born in Zimbabwe, trained at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where he completed both a BA in Contemporary and Urban Stage Dance and a BA in Contemporary Dance, supported by a full scholarship from the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation.

He has performed with Theater Bremerhaven and is currently a dancer with Luzerner Theater. His career includes collaborations with internationally renowned choreographers such as Tom Weinberger, Nadav Zelner, Inbal Pinto, Naomi Perlov, Luca Signoretti, and Alba Castillo. In 2020, he performed at the Stuttgart International Solo Dance Festival, presenting a winning solo choreographed by Muhammed Kaltuk.

This intensive is designed for dancers seeking to expand their practice through complex improvisation techniques, dynamic physicality, and refined articulation. Participants will engage deeply with Roki’s movement research and learn original choreographic material developed during the workshop.
