Training Residency Programme in Contemporary Performing Arts
Where: Partner venues in Prato (KLm – Kinkaleri), Florence (Toast Project), Sesto Fiorentino (Company Blu) and Pistoia (NUB Project Space), Tuscany, Italy.
When: February–May 2027, across five residential training modules.
Deadline for applications: 31 October 2026 at 12:00 noon CET (Italian local time).
The body is the starting point and shared ground of Corpo a Corpi. Through movement, listening and encounters with space, participants will explore how they develop a presence within a performance. Choreographic research enters into dialogue with visual arts and sound, questioning conventions such as the separation between stage and audience and exploring how space and sound shape relationships between bodies.
Led by KLm – Kinkaleri in partnership with Company Blu, NUB Project Space and Toast Project, the programme is funded by Regione Toscana through PR FSE+ Toscana 2021–2027 within Giovanisì (www.giovanisi.it).
The 12 selected artists will work together throughout five modules:
• KLm – Kinkaleri: choreographic research into individual and collective bodies, exploring presence, improvisation and composition.
• Toast Project: relationships between body, image and contemporary art, combining experimentation with tools for documenting and communicating artistic practice.
• Company Blu: physical and somatic practices, improvisation and open scores connecting movement, voice and silence.
• NUB Project Space: sound as a material, perceptual and spatial experience, explored through listening, vocal and bodily actions, microphones and sound systems.
• KLm – Kinkaleri: development and staging of individual and collective work, addressing production and technical aspects and culminating in a public sharing.
The shared residential experience connects artistic research with professional practice through direct exchanges with artists, curators and cultural practitioners.
Applicants must be aged 18–35, reside or be domiciled in Tuscany, and be unemployed, seeking their first employment or economically inactive. They must hold an AFAM qualification or have other training or professional experience in the performing arts. Non-Italian citizens must have Italian proficiency of at least CEFR level B1.
