Learning, experimenting and practicing Livne’s movement and choreographic method called – Spirit Dance.

12 meetings. Once a week. 2 hours each meeting on Mondays. Divided into 2 chapters:

1st chapter: 6 meetings of learning and practicing the Spirit Dance method and its philosophy in relation to the performer role, the possible new relations with the viewer and the potential of choreography to create new kinds of supporting structures.

2nd chapter: 6 meetings which focus on the creation process of each of the participants. Tools, practices and new perspectives on the creation process, the relation between the process and the product, the reflection and the art itself. Each of the participants will create a new work as part of the course – a performance, a video, a dance, a text, a lecture, a party, a book, a score, a manifest, a video clip, an intimate interview, an object, a painting…

Livne’s Spirit Dance practice focuses on the relationships between the dancer role and her agency, choreography & philosophy and the effect they might have on the individual perception and the collective experience – questioning the potentiality of inventing other forms of Being together through the art practice. Livne treats the performance medium as a field to practice our “body-being-in-the-world” and her method offers a reversal in the logic of image creation which helps to manifest different kinds of realities, groups, relations, gangs, organizations, friendships, performative events, forums, etc.

Can Care, Compassion, Reflection, Sensitivity, Softness be the base of a dance and performance practice? Can we truly create other relations with ourselves, with the dance, with our view on the world, with the audience gaze and with our perception? Can intimacy be an inherent material of the dance, performance and their practice? Can we touch the world differently? Can we See and Being-Seen with all our complexities in a performative context and beyond?
