The Moving Music: Improvisation workshop is for dancers and those from a movement background who want to develop improvisation skills.
Where: Shoreditch Town Hall. London, UK
When: Monday 2 March, 5:30pm – 8:30pm
Deadline for applications: Tuesday 25 February, 10am
In May, we are collaborating with Nu Civilisation Orchestra to present Charles Mingus’ classic album ‘The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady’ in a performance that invites the audience to the dancefloor.
The performance will feature sections where both live musicians and dancers improvise at once. This workshop is an investigation into how different types of dance and movement can accompany and complement Mingus’ wildly sensual, rhythmically explosive score. This workshop is for dancers and those from a movement background who want to develop improvisation skills.
Led by Suzy Willson, Artistic Director of Clod Ensemble, with musicians from Nu Civilisation Orchestra.
This workshop is free to attend but spaces are limited.
To apply, please complete our evaluation form (clodensemble.com/improvisation) by Tuesday 25 February, 10am.
We welcome applications from everyone and actively encourage individuals with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
Costs for participants: Free
