Growth in Motion is an 8-day international training course designed for 30 youth workers, educators, and facilitators from Spain, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Latvia, and France. The program uses Contact Improvisation (CI) and somatic practices to develop personal and professional skills, enhancing participants’ ability to foster inclusive, empathetic, and dynamic learning environments.

Why Contact Improvisation (CI)?
CI is a dance form centered on movement, weight-sharing, and physical connection. It provides a non-verbal way to explore trust, communication, and collaboration, all essential for youth work. By integrating CI into their practices, participants will gain tools to engage with young people in non-formal education settings and better address social and emotional challenges.

Program Objectives:

Strengthen empathy and communication skills by using movement to understand emotional and physical boundaries.
Promote social inclusion through trust, shared responsibility, and physical interaction.
Develop leadership and teamwork by managing group dynamics in CI sessions.
Enhance emotional awareness and mental well-being through movement-based self-expression.
Introduce innovative learning methodologies for youth work, shifting from verbal discussion to experiential, embodied learning.
Learning Approach & Activities:
The program blends practical movement sessions, personal reflection, and group collaboration to cultivate self-awareness and emotional resilience. Participants will:

Explore CI fundamentals (consent, weight-sharing, physical safety).
Engage in improvisation exercises, enhancing non-verbal communication and creative expression.
Develop collective awareness, leadership, and teamwork through dynamic partner and group work.
Participate in outdoor movement sessions, connecting with nature to enhance sensory perception.
Experience reflection and integration moments, using journaling, peer discussions, and guided somatic practices.

Participation contribution: we offer the opportunity to self-assess your contribution on a sliding scale between 100 – 200 euro (to be paid in cash upon arrival).
