This 5-days’ workshop invites participants to discover reggaeton as an embodied and cultural practice – rooted in rhythm, grounding, and musicality. Through working with different movement tools and fundamental technical principles, we explore isolation, bounce, coordination, and the conscious use of weight. These elements are understood as gateways to presence, expression, and physical clarity in dance. The workshop focuses on the physical foundations of reggaeton and its close connection to groove and musicality. At the same time, participants receive practical inspiration for freestyle, improvisation, and the development of a personal movement language. In addition to exploratory tasks, choreographic sequences will be taught throughout the week, with complexity increasing step by step – from clearly structured movement phrases to multi-layered and dynamic combinations. These choreographies serve as a creative framework for developing a deeper understanding of reggaeton, its musical structures, and its individual interpretation in dance.
