Gathering Momentum, a workshop cycle in Bologna

a cycle of four gatherings that move through the axis syllabus from different perspectives, alongside practices that share its underlying principles. each meeting generates energy (physical, sonic, compositional) that builds across the cycle: each workshop charges the next. you can join a single workshop or the entire cycle.

1 · radiant bodies, axis syllabus
with nuvola vandini
december 5-6, 10 am-5 pm

when we move with ease, the body radiates into space and energy passes from one mass to another. the workshop looks at movement through its physics: gravity, levers, the relationships between forces.

2 · camminamenti, axis syllabus and singing
with nuvola vandini and valentina turrini
january 30, 10 am-6 pm · january 31, 10 am-5 pm

an investigation of movement and singing through the biomechanics beneath both. knowing the instrument allows greater adaptability and expressive range while preserving the body’s integrity. can singing support my dancing, and vice versa?

3 · cartografie gravitazionali, the body as an instrument of orientation
with alessandro carboni and nuvola vandini
february 26, 5-7.30 pm · february 27, 10 am-6 pm · february 28, 10 am-5 pm

the body never inhabits a landscape from above: it is immersed in it, negotiating its weight. the workshop brings together the axis syllabus and carboni’s embodied map tools, two practices that orient the body in uncertainty. gravity links inside and outside, and maps are built from the ground up.

4 · anatomy of wonder, axis syllabus
with nuvola vandini
april 10-11, 10 am-5 pm

the principles of the axis syllabus seen through wonder: what remains, what transforms, what appears anew. group and individual improvisation tasks where the objectivity of the principles meets the subjectivity of each person.
