TAnzTAge Wien invites dancers and movement practitioners to join Heidi Vierthaler for a two-day public workshop exploring her Streamflow Method.
Heidi Vierthaler is a German-American choreographer, educator and movement researcher based in Amsterdam, with four decades of experience in dance. Her career includes years with Pacific Northwest Ballet and collaborations with William Forsythe and Ohad Naharin. She has created works for Compañía Nacional de Danza and Scapino Ballet Rotterdam.
Streamflow is a playful, sensory movement practice that shifts attention from thinking about movement to listening to the body. Through visual imagery, tactile exercises and simple tasks within clear spatial boundaries, participants explore how different parts of the body can initiate movement and connect with one another.
Across eight hours of practice, Heidi will guide participants in exploring familiar movement habits and finding less familiar pathways. The work invites greater awareness of sensation, physical connections and the surrounding space, allowing complex movement to emerge from simple starting points.
Presented by TAnzTAge Wien at Bluebox Hub Vienna, the workshop offers dancers and movement practitioners time to deepen their physical research with Heidi.
