Transire is a project curated by Compagnia degli Istanti, under the artistic direction of Simona Bucci, and La CAP Re|Hub, under the artistic direction of Silvia Giordano.
The project consists of a free residential training programme for artists aged 18 to 35 working in the field of contemporary dance, with a focus on developing artistic, creative, organisational and professional skills to support their entry into the performing arts sector.
The open call is addressed to choreographers, dancers and makers, and includes:
– Three residency sessions:
1st session: November 16 – December 2, 2026 (17 days) at La CAP Re|Hub (Sinalunga, Siena, Italy), curated by Compagnia degli Istanti.
2nd session: January 11–30, 2027 (20 days) at La CAP Re|Hub (Sinalunga, Siena, Italy), curated by La CAP Re|Hub.
3rd session: April 1–17, 2027 (17 days) at Teatro di Settignano and Teatro dell’Affratellamento (Florence, Italy), curated by Compagnia degli Istanti.
– Accommodation and use of studio facilities.
– A total residency grant of €1,200 (€25 net for each day of active participation).
– Seminars, guided research laboratories, mentoring sessions and practical workshops focusing on choreographic language, body practices, artistic research, professional management and technical tools for stage production.
– Development of a choreographic or performance project, with guidance and support from mentors and tutors.
Seminars, laboratories, and workshops will be led by distinguished teachers, artists, professionals, and mentors of national and international standing, including the project’s artistic directors Simona Bucci (Artistic Director of Compagnia Simona Bucci/Compagnia degli Istanti) and Silvia Giordano (Artistic Director of La CAP Re|Hub), Emanuel Gat (choreographer and Artistic Director of Emanuel Gat Dance), Milena Ugren Koulas (choreographer, Stylish Junkies Collective), Françoise Parlanti (choreographer and performer), Emese Nagy (performer and choreographer, MA•ZE), Robert Bozarth (Feldenkrais Method), Emanuele Sinisi (scenographer and set designer), Davidson Jaconello (composer and sound designer), VIDAVÈ Company (Artistic Directors Noemi Dalla Vecchia and Matteo Vignali), LUCIA (curatorial platform and screendance magazine), Elisa Frasson (researcher and lecturer, PhD, University of Roehampton; co-founder of LUCIA), Giada Masi (costume designer), Rossella Menna (theatre scholar, essayist, and dramaturg), Dario Nardini (anthropologist and researcher, University of Padua), Marika Errigo (performing arts management), Omar Nappini (art historian, MAD – Museo dell’Albero d’Oro, Lucignano), Erika Poletto (dancer and teacher), Valerio Alfieri (lighting designer), Alessandro Marzotto Levy (performer and choreographer), and Martina Rafanelli (videomaker). Further prominent figures from the contemporary arts scene will also join the project.

6. For choreographer applicants: brief presentation of an original choreographic project (max. 2 pages).
