Are you a dancer or mover interested in real time composition with live music that wishes to expand your improvisational vocabulary and refine your ability to respond real time? This Intensive Joint Lab is a space for deep listening, experimentation and the discovery of new movement languages through the convergence of dance and sound.

In the mornings we will tune our bodies and mind through somatic movement principles guided by Iris van Peppen to set the tone for the afternoon sessions.
Miri Lee will guide the afternoon practice of Listening Into Form. Imprography Lab is an immersive inquiry into movement, sound, and spatial awareness. We approach improvisation not as a method but as a practice of perceiving the invisible architectures of space and time – where the body listens, and listening becomes form.
Through breath, immediacy, and kinesthetic intelligence, the dancer encounters their own physicality as a sensing organism. Group practice opens the field further: attuning to a shifting environment, adapting within the collective, shaping structure in the instant it arises. We negotiate the threshold between personal agency and shared dynamics – when to assert, dissolve, allow another voice to compose through us.

This is a laboratory for dancers/performers who want to deepen their practice of real-time composition to widen their own language, disrupt familiar patterns, and sharpen the art of risk at the edge of structure.

The intensive culminates in an open presentation in the studio on the last day, where participants share the practice with an invited audience.
