OPEN CALL FOR DANCERS | 12.ance Intensive 2026
We’re looking for dancers to join 12.ance Intensive 2026, led by Anna Borràs and Daniel Navarro Lorenzo, co-founders of Indra Dance Company.
Drawing from their internationally toured work, Exhale, Anna and Daniel will share their creative practice and collaborate with dancers to explore and expand this critically acclaimed production.
Having toured across Europe, Exhale is now set to make its Singapore premiere.
Through 4 days of guided improvisation, partnering explorations and creative tasks, participants will engage with movement material and ideas from Exhale, discovering how individual movement choices, shared curiosity and physical research can develop into choreographic material.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
– We’re looking for experienced dancers aged 17 years and above, who are curious, open to exploration and ready to create! Whether you’re confident in your practice or looking to challenge yourself in new ways, let’s grow together.
– This open call is audition-based.
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
– Explore dynamic movement, from explosive physicality to fluidity and release.
– Develop awareness of weight, gravity, momentum and floorwork.
– Challenge movement habits through improvisation, risk-taking and exploration.
– Discover partnering through shared weight, support, touch and communication.
– Gain insight into Anna and Daniel’s creative process while collaboratively creating a performance.
FROM STUDIO TO STAGE:
– The intensive culminates in a performance: an extension of Exhale created with the participants and developed together with Anna and Daniel.
– The new work will be presented in the same programme as Anna and Daniel’s performance of Exhale — bringing the research of the intensive into direct conversation with the work from which it began.

– NO flight or accommodation will be provided.

How to apply:
1. Prepare a 2- to 5-minute continuous improvisation video (unedited, with full body in view), improvising to below task:
Transforming through the following progression:
Small → Bigger → Stronger → Excessive → Extreme
As an additional layer on top of this, think about: Being alone. Allow the body to collapse towards the floor through an exhalation. Search for this exhalation.
(Selection will be based on each dancer’s physicality, presence, character and expressive qualities.)
