Why train with so many different artists?

At ICD, change is part of the training.

Throughout the season, dancers work closely with internationally active guest artists in focused one- and two-week sessions. Each encounter brings a different way of working, thinking and approaching movement — asking dancers to adapt, question, make choices and take greater responsibility for their own artistic practice.

Rather than training within a single methodology, dancers move through different practices, choreographic materials and creative processes. The aim is not simply to experience multiple approaches, but to understand what each encounter can bring to their practice: what changes, what they choose to carry forward, and what remains their own.

This continuous exchange is supported by consistent daily training and intensive studio practice within an international environment in Turin, Italy.
