Interdisciplinary artist Monika Dorniak is searching for two contemporary dancers (m/f/x) with a strong personality to join the multicultural-/disciplinary team working on her next production ‘The Amplification Of Fluctuations’.

Where: Berlin, Germany

When: July-August 2021

Deadline for applications: 28th of February 2021

The new multi-media performance project ‘The Amplification Of Fluctuations’ by interdisciplinary German-Polish artist Monika Dorniak consists of a 30-minute video production and a performance. The work is supported by Fonds für Darstellende Künste Germany. In case of Covid-19 restrictions, the work will be live-streamed on the website, or presented as a video performance.

The project is based on research in philosophy and sociology, and reflects on the formation of a collective in a pluralised society. Using wearable sculptures, and digital projections, the performers switch between active dance, everyday movements and still figures. The work is depicting the processes of forming personal bonds and collective actions by reflecting on the act of becoming oneself, by being with another.

For the performance we are looking for two professional dancers (m/f/x) based in Berlin, who will be available for rehearsals and performance end of July and beginning/mid of August 2021.

Please take a look at previous projects before applying. If you can imagine yourself to join the team, we are looking forward to your application!

To apply, please send your application with the subject ‘The Amplification Of Fluctuations’ containing:

– CV (incl. a recent photograph)
– Minimum of two videos (alternatively a reel) presenting your individual movement style (ideally Vimeo/Youtube)
– Short motivation letter

A selection of applicants will be invited to Zoom interviews. The final decision will be announced until end of March.

The dancers will be paid based on performers wage plan (Germany).
