Intensive program with David Ramalho – Flying Low & Improvisation
Flying Low is a dance technique created by David Zambrano, with whom David Ramalho has studied extensively over the past ten years.
The workshop will be taught primarily in Portuguese; however, participants of all nationalities are warmly welcome. David will provide support and translation in English, French, and Spanish whenever needed.

Throughout the week, David Ramalho will share the Flying Low dance technique during the morning sessions and a range of improvisation practices in the afternoons.

During the morning classes, participants will explore movement sequences involving breath, speed, spirals, and the efficient use of energy throughout the body. The work focuses on activating the relationship between the body’s centre and its joints, while developing different ways of moving into and out of the floor.

In the afternoon sessions, participants will engage in a variety of improvisation exercises and games focusing on action and reaction, states of alertness, deep listening, cohesion and expansion, dissonant movement, musicality, partnering, the use of space, the use of the eyes and gaze, and many other compositional and performative tools.

On the final day, participants will be invited to take part in a public sharing of the work developed throughout the workshop.
