ECHO is an advanced training and research programme in contemporary dance for dancers aged 14 to 23. Structured through monthly intensive sessions, the programme brings technique, research, improvisation, repertoire and creation into dialogue through encounters with artists and teachers from diverse backgrounds and artistic practices.
Where: Via Volontari del Sangue 38, Cologno Monzese (Milan), Italy
When: 3 October 2026 – 18 June 2027
The programme unfolds through monthly intensive sessions and concludes with a final performance sharing on 18 June 2027.
Deadline for applications: 15 September 2026
Training is, first and foremost, a space of possibility.
ECHO was created out of the desire to establish a space dedicated to the practice, research and transmission of contemporary dance, where the learning process can become an experience of discovery, exchange and transformation.
The programme brings together artists from diverse backgrounds and artistic practices, offering participants the opportunity to engage with different approaches to the body, movement and composition.
Throughout the programme, participants will explore contemporary dance technique, improvisation, movement research, Gaga, repertoire and choreographic composition, with the aim of providing a wide range of tools without defining or imposing a single aesthetic.
The programme faculty includes Roberta Ferrara, Guy Shomroni, Eliana Stragapede, Anabel Barotte Moreno, Nicola De Pascale, Manfredi Perego and Chiara Montalbani.
A central part of the programme will be dedicated to research and collective creation. This process will lead to a final performance sharing on 18 June 2027 at Teatro Manzoni in Monza, conceived as an experience that reflects the working dynamics of a professional dance company. Participants will be actively involved in the creative process and in the development of a shared choreographic work.
Through this journey, ECHO aims to accompany young performers through an important stage of their artistic development: from being students to beginning to recognise themselves, and take responsibility, as dancers and artists.
