Clandestine immersive dining company Gingerline are looking for experienced dancers and physical theatre performers to join their existing cast of ‘The Grand Expedition’

In the past five months, audience members have been taken on a fantastical expedition around the world through the use of animated illustrations, dance, music, improvised theatre and food.

We are looking for versatile performers with experience in contemporary dance, physical theatre, improvisation and immersive theatre. Please note, that this is a dining experience and therefore roles will also have an element of food and drink service.

Performers will be required to dance a variety styles inspired by different country’s rich cultural traditions. We are particularly interested in meeting dancers that have experience in Japanese Odori dances, Russian Folk Dance and Brazilian Carnival dances. Although full training will be provided, please highlight if you have this experience.

Auditions will take place in a South- East London location on 15th March 2019. The audition will involve learning a short piece of group choreography, followed by physical improvisation exercises.

Rehearsals will take place from 1st April 2019 – 27th April 2019 Mon-Fri 10-5pm for approximately 7 days with the dates chosen according to availability of the new cast. The first performance will be on 30th April 2019. Initially, performers will be contracted for a 3-month run with the option to extend. Performers are required to attend all rehearsals.

Performances will take place in a secret North-East London location on the Victoria line and run Tuesday – Saturday evenings 7-11pm with a Saturday matinee 12-4pm.

The rehearsal fee will be £90 per day and performance fee £75 per show.
