VIM VIGOR Winter Workshops invite dancers into immersive research of contemporary floorwork, partnering, and dance theater exploration. Each day focuses on refining efficiency and healthy alignment in and out of the floor, deepening artistry through context, emotional impulse, and ensemble connection.

We’ll explore momentum-based partnering, improvisation, acting techniques, and creative dialogue — cultivating both physical precision and expressive range. Every session begins and concludes with forms of bodywork and guided reflection, allowing the day’s physical efforts and artistic inquiries to integrate with the body’s natural cycles of breath, recovery, and renewal.

Our workshops are designed to support professional dancers and dedicated movers eager to expand their technical and performance capacity. While we classify this as an advanced program, our approach balances rigor with encouragement — offering creative modifications that allow each artist to engage fully at their own level. Personal growth, communal investment, and evolving contemporary practice are the heart of our shared work.

Join us at ARTS ASSEMBLY A2, VIM VIGOR’s home in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan, for one, two, or all three days — December 18-20, 10am – 3pm — and experience the vitality of movement, collaboration, and creative discovery.
