Hong Kong SHIFT Summer Intensive, August 5 – August 9 with international teaching artist Peter Chu! Peter is the Artistic Director and Founder of the contemporary company chuthis. A highly respected and sought-after artist, Peter has worked with world-renowned companies such as Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, Nederlands Dans Theater and more.
Join us for a week-long immersion in contemporary dance and elevate your dancing with 30 hours of classes in: Contemporary, chuthis. ideas, Floorwork, Repertory, Contemporary Partnering, Improvisation and Creation.
August 5 (Monday) – August 9 (Friday), 9AM – 4PM
Location: Red Shoe Dance studios, Wong Chuk Hang
Price: $6800 HKD
Ages: 13+ (Intermediate/advanced, pre-professional and professional dancers)
Peter’s class explores Qi Gong & Taichi fundamentals, modern dance principles, chuthis. repertoire and free-form/improvisational thoughts. The class encourages heightened mind/body familiarity, physical sensibility, listening and awareness guiding to the dancer to access more depth, power and emotion in their movement.
