Scapino Ballet Rotterdam are looking for an experienced and engaged Rehearsal Director to join the artistic team from season 2026/2027 onwards.

As Rehearsal Director, you are an important link between artistic vision and daily practice. Your focus is on rehearsing, maintaining and re-staging repertoire. You work closely with dancers in the studio and ensure that the artistic quality of the work remains consistent, while establishing and maintaining clear expectations and a focused way of working during creation periods and performances.
You collaborate with the Artistic Director, choreographers, the artistic team and technical crew, translating artistic choices into the daily rehearsal process and on tour.
The role combines a strong presence in the studio with an active role in the organisation of rehearsals and productions. You contribute to planning, coordination and communication around schedules, ensuring that both the artistic and practical sides of the work are well aligned. You do this as part of a small artistic team with shared responsibility for the rehearsal process.

Profile
We are looking for an experienced Rehearsal Director with a background in contemporary repertoire, the creation of new pieces

and the re-staging of existing productions. We value individuals who contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.

You have a sharp artistic eye, a deep understanding of different choreographic languages and the ability to support both established and emerging choreographers in their creative process. You move comfortably between the studio and planning, and maintain overview within a dynamic working environment.

·       Experience as a Rehearsal Director, Ballet Master or a similar role
·       Ability to guide, lead and motivate dancers at a high level
·       A structured and reliable way of working
·       Ability to maintain overview and set priorities
·       Strong communication and collaboration skills
·       Comfortable combining artistic work with planning and organisational tasks
·       Ability to read music scores is a plus
·       Good command of English
·       Living in or willing to move to Rotterdam
