“I’m Bored, What’s Next?” is a virtual showcase that works to create accessible performance opportunities to artists and audiences, offering a free event that directs funds to an organization/charity of value.
When: February 26th through 28th 2021
Deadline for applications: February 1st, 2021
“I’m Bored, What’s Next?” was created to showcase work by independent artists amidst the pandemic. With funding for performance art scarce, and with many performance venues having to postpone, reschedule, or shut down completely, we saw a dramatic decrease in performance opportunities, even virtually. So…we created one.
“I’m Bored, What’s Next?” is free to participants and to the audience, while urging participants/audience members to donate to an organization/charity.
In the first edition in October 2020, we directed donations to the Black Artist Fund. In December, we directed donations to the Black Art Futures Fund.
This is a bimonthly event, occurring every other month, directing funds to different organizations each time.
All art forms are welcome – dancers, musicians, video makers of any kind.
If accepted, we will need the video of your new work by February 21st.
Past works are also considered, as long as they are submitted with the application form.
The final “performance” includes a stream on Friday, February 26th, and performances are open to view on the website from February 26th to February 28th at 11:59pm EST.

The participants selected will also be invited to an optional zoom networking/mingle session, and be connected via a private FB group with many of the artists that have participated in the past sessions.
