Incoming artistic director Richard Siegal and the team of Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballet of Difference seek classically-trained (including pointe work) dancers of all genders for full-time contracts beginning in September 2025. In addition to extraordinary technique, a strong individual artistic voice, improvisational ability, and a collaborative spirit are desired.
The company’s mission is to critically interrogate ballet’s relevance in the 21st century, through inquiries into classical technique, reimaginations of canonical works, and questioning its broader socio-political status. The repertoire will consist of new and existing works by Richard Siegal, including Unitxt, Oval, and Petruschka, as well as by both established and emerging contemporary ballet choreographers from Europe and abroad.
The audition will take place in Nuremberg on February 2nd, 2025, by invitation only. Please submit a cover letter, CV, and one video demonstrating classical and contemporary technique (including partnering; no superimposed music), as well as improvisation by January 20th, 2025 to ballett@staatstheater-nuernberg.de.
How to apply:
Please submit a cover letter, CV, and one video demonstrating classical and contemporary technique (including partnering; no superimposed music), as well as improvisation by November 27th, 2024 (for the audition in Tokyo) respectively January 20th, 2025 (for the audition in Nuremberg) to ballett@staatstheater-nuernberg.de.
