Gate 8 Workshop is a five-day seminar for actors, dancers, professional artists or semi-professionals.
Through Gate 8 we want to give students the chance to be themselves, to get involved and feel at
ease, creating a serene and stimulating working environment.
Gate 8 is research and experimentation, creating connections, cultural exchange and working on the authenticity of the dancer.
Each year we invite a choreographer, director of an international company with who our participants can work closely for five days of work/study.
On 31/08/2022 there will be a final performance out-door where the choreographer will choose one person who will be awarded a prize of 500 euros to help the student in their artistic journey.

Workshop description: SHOCK THE BODY
Our ongoing curiosity and attraction to explosive frequencies – fragile tension – attack &
retreat – states of emergency, and states of zero, are only some of the themes in the
context of our workshops. Contrasting between a delicate and powerful approach, we
explore imaginative exits and entrances of the body and its various layers, everything in
between the vertical and horizontal are used, producing a physically demanding and
intricate vocabulary within a playful state of battle, that shocks the body.

Choreographic workshops and creations are also part of our seminars in which we work alongside young or semi-professionals in creating new and bold collaborative works.
Students learn to engage in the creative process and are able to investigate their own artistic choices. Research, reflect and implement through participation, resulting in a
unique and forming experience. 30 dancers will be chosen to work with Paul during the festival and they will also have the possibility to perform on stage at the end of the week.
