Celebrating his 60’s David Zambrano will direct 60 days intensive on improvisation. This unique event in dance history will be cherished as a documentary.

Where: Tictac Art Centre, Rue Emile Carpentier 34, Brussels

When: 30 September – 8 December 2019 :

Deadline for applications: 3 May 2019

Dearest dancers of the world,

You still have one month to apply for the 60 Days Intensive Improvisation workshop, deadline for application is the 3rd of May. Don’t miss it!

About the Workshop:

As a matter of fact, this 60 days intensive will be the longest workshop ever organized in David Zambrano’s whole career! Making this project one of the biggest and sexiest events of the contemporary dance world as we know it.

40 years of improvisation research condensed into 2 months of transmission and intense movement

Participants shall expect no less than reaching the main core of the improvisation practice – exploration of solo and group dynamics, spontaneous composition, commitment into the learning-while-doing approach, using one’s life experience etc. Dancers will get constant personal feedback from Zambrano, as they learn how to create instant pieces of dance on stage using the group as an audience.

A workshop as an artistic experience: One could say that there is no difference between Zambrano’s performing and his teaching. Live transmission is the core of his artistic work and his workshops have become his main creative laboratory. Therefore, as many other improvisation workshops, this 60 days intensive will be a live performance in itself, and all the participants will take part in the creative work. We could imagine this workshop as an improvised piece over the course of 60 days, performed by 60 dancers, directed by David Zambrano.

But wait is there more? Yes, a documentary project!

“60 days” Documentary Project:

The 60 days intensive is a unique happening within the dance community, and Tictac Art Centre has decided to cherish this experience in a documentary! This project is still in its first steps and we are now looking for ways to provide consistent support for this event, however the selection of the film crew and the quest for producers have both started – any council is welcome.

This titanic venture, both the workshop and documentary are truly meant to be a major episode of contemporary dance art history. Join us!
