When: January – 4th to 8th

Breaking down the mechanism. Butoh dance is not a form we can approach by imitation, it’s a complex and deep philosophical and physical journey in the body that overcomes western duality and involves body mind and spirit as an indivisible unity. Butoh dance is a journey of discovering of the internal space of the body, the different quality of energy, the relation with space, the motion-emotion process, revealing the subconscious and ultimately achieving the capacity of transformation.
The spiritual mechanism is how I decided to call this inquiry, and it’s an analytical method based on the experiences and training I practised over the past 25 years with some of the most influential Japanese masters of this discipline like Masaki Iwana, Akira Kasai, Min Tanaka, Daisuke Yoshimoto, and Yoko Murunoi, among others. In this workshop, I will break down this complex mechanism in his fundamental parts.
No previous experience required.
