The workshop will delve into the exploration of the voice through Feldenkrais, music and improvisation.

Where: Ogassa, Catalan Pyrenees

When: 27-30 June 2022

Informed and inspired by their experience in somatic techniques, the Feldenkrais Method, theater, dance, music and improvisation Jennifer Blanco & Christos Barbas adopt an interdisciplinary approach in the exploration of the voice as an instrument, its subtleties and its special agency towards creativity in the context of artistic practices and performing arts. The voice is seen here in three ways; as a set of mechanisms and functions located inside the body; as sound -musical, verbal or abstract; and as a symbolic carrier of deeper meaning and personal identity.

The workshop will delve into the exploration of the voice through the practice of a series of lessons that were developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, focused on the breath, the voice and the body as a whole, as well as original exercises based on movement and singing and listening sessions. It is aimed at actors, singers, dancers and musicians who wish to acquire new tools to enrich their creative practices, as well as anyone interested in learning through the conscious experience of movement, sound and music. We welcome both professionals and amateurs, as well as individuals inspired by interdisciplinary practices and somatic techniques.
