The Choreographic Marathon, not kilometres but 26.2 +++ hours, over 3 days & 1 overnight, is studio creation time, individual attention, performance, feedback, mentoring, group exchange, good food, and creative discovery.

For established and emerging movement artists of movement-based performance, from all forms and origins.

Bring work or an idea, and the artists you are working with – from your genre of performance- material to test, twist, develop, cut, reflect, refashion, reason, rescue, refine. Work within your own creative process and stretch the boundaries in an environment of enquiry. Move work forward. Share feedback and take it immediately back into the studio. Test your aesthetic principles. Build creative stamina. maybe hit the wall and find out what is on the other side. Challenge and be challenged in a community of rigour and mutual support.

This is a platform for creativity. Have an idea that you are not sure will fit? Send it over.

Sessions are in English, with French and several languages operating. Translation will be arranged if you work in another language.

ABOUT: Award-winning choreographer Maxine Heppner is a senior mentor and teacher of choreographic process for professionals and students for over 40 years in Canada and worldwide. “A fine fine choreographer and she goes for it” (Globe and Mail).
