2/ We are looking for one very dancer who is very musical to dance solo in a choreographed concert with two great musicians. First rehearsals: 2nd and 3rd July – first weekend. Then 7th – 12th November – further rehearsals including the performance. A fee £1500 is expected – plus travel, accommodation and per diems. The overall fee is though still in discussion. ( Please put ‘Concert’ in the subject title.) And please send show reel by 31st May 2022. Hip hop and / or contemporary dancers all encouraged to apply.
3/ Below is Sweetshop Revolution’s new company work. Starting on / or around around 15th August ( start date flexible ) and ending around 6th November. It includes three weeks of UK touring. Fee: Above equity rates. ( Please put ‘Not Dead’ in the application title.)
We are seeking three professional contemporary dance artists or physical theatre performers – male or female to join the company for the creation of a new full-length dance-theatre work.
As a company, we work with improvisation and are looking for experienced contemporary dance artists aged 30 – 93, who have some life experience – of either losing someone they loved to death or the end of a relationship. Good contact work, strong text, a sense of humour, an ability to be honest as well as vulnerable are all welcome skills. In terms of age, ex professional contemporary dancers are especially welcome, as we are keen to cast older performers in this work.
We see people as artists in their own right and are interested their perspectives, not simply through a minority world lens. So we want to talk to dance artists of global majority heritage; full or partial African Diaspora, East/South East Asian and South Asian and of Latin American heritage. LGBT are also welcome, along with disabled artists with a range of access needs. Non-normative body types and people who identify as trans artists are also encouraged to apply. Please let us know in advance so we can support your needs at the audition. And please feel free to ask for a telephone call if you need to know more about the work.
Auditions are 11th and 12th June 2022 in London, apart from the first project which we will decide based on application videos and possible zoom auditions. We are also happy to audition older people separately as well. Audition dates will depend on what is happening with Covid.
To apply, please send us your show reel, CV and headshot to email@example.com by 6pm on 31st May 2022, apart from the first project which has a deadline of 6pm on 7th May 2022. Audition by Invitation. We will let you know by 3rd June at the latest. Yet please tell us if you need to know sooner.
