Five days of intense contemporary training for dance professionals and students including contemporary dance technique and repertoire – two contemporary dance pieces (group work and a solo) choreographed by Indra Reinhold.
A great opportunity for dancers not only to improve their technical and artistic skills but also to enrich their repertoire with a new contemporary solo for auditions, competitions or other performances.

The Genée International Ballet Competition and Maya Plisetskaya International Ballet Competition Choreography Award winner Indra Reinholde is a contemporary dance choreographer with distinctive and expressive dance language. Indra is a creator and former artistic director of the contemporary dance company ‘Reinhold Chamber Ballet’ (Latvia) and she has created numerous contemporary dance productions for this company as well as for other ballet and contemporary dance theatres such as Mariinsky Theatre, Russian State Ballet Theatre, Yekaterinburg Dance Theatre and Ballet West Scotland. In cooperation with Ballet West Scotland Indra created an original version of ‘The Wedding’ by I.Stravinsky and numerous other works.

Indra uses Cunningham and release – based techniques in her teaching approaching them creatively and blending them with her own contemporary dance language and subsequently its teaching tools developed empirically through exploration of movements and their sequences focusing on such qualities as expressivity and freedom of upper body as well as dynamics – ‘playing’ with different amplitudes; exploring and applying contrasting movement qualities such as softness and fluidity, thickness, tension, resistance and sharpness; ‘playing’ with different rhythms and speeds using suspensions and ‘catch ups’ as well as exploring relations between balance and ‘off balance’ and the use of gravity.
