Hofesh Shechter Company is delighted to announce our Summer Courses, running this June in London. Join us for 5 daily sessions of in-depth work exploring the fundamental principles of Hofesh’s distinctive movement language. You will unlock these skills through improvisation, followed learning extended extracts from our highly acclaimed 2017 work Grand Finale, or our current touring work Double Murder. Come and dive into these works with our Associate Artistic Director, Bruno Guillore, alongside dancers from the company.
Where: London, UK
When: 19th June 2023 – 30th June 2023
Every day will comprise an in-depth warm up class led by different dancers of the company, followed by learning extended repertoire extracts over the week, to help you embed these principles in your movement. Each day after class, you will build on the repertoire extract, with HSC dancers layering in more information and personal insight, to help you explore more deeply Hofesh’s movement language. The course will culminate on the Friday with a full run-through of the repertoire learnt in the week.
These summer courses are open to dancers, teachers and dance students – anyone looking to enrich and deepen their practice or training, and of course anyone interested in getting some intensive experience in the run up to our forthcoming Shechter II audition call out. You must be 18 years of age minimum, and we warmly welcome all ages upwards of that. Whether you are new to Hofesh’s work, or you have already danced with us before, there will be something for everyone to discover during these sessions.
