The Dance Department is located at DOCH (the School of Dance and Circus) and is the hub for all programmes and courses in dance and choreography.

Assessment criteria

  • Artistic skill: a leader in your artistic field, demonstrated through active professional artistic work. The quality of the activities must be at top international level.
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge within the subject discipline of choreography
  • Active professional artistic work within the subject discipline of choreography
  • Teaching skill: documented teaching skill in artistic contexts within or outside the university
  • Broad experience of various forms of teaching
  • Ability to develop and conduct high-quality teaching at various levels
  • Ability to describe your teaching and your educational approach
  • Documented experience of research, or equivalent, within the subject discipline of choreography
  • Documented experience of method development
  • Ability to express yourself well in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Documented good cooperation skills

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of teaching in English
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop international collaborations and exchanges
  • Practical experience of cooperating with the surrounding world

You must have completed an academic teacher training course or are expected to complete such a course as soon as possible after recruitment. Alternatively, you must have documented equivalent knowledge.
