Hayley Matthews will be sharing the practice of her work Still in the City – Dancing in Urban Space, an improvised dance and live music piece. The work addresses the isolating, speedy and disorientating affects of urban living and looks at building a different possibility; by creating a space built through moving honestly in and from moments of stillness and eye contact. The workshop will have live musical accompaniment from guitarist Brian Kortelling.

Hayley Matthews is a contemporary dancer and dance maker, founder of Ensemble Dance Company and training Rolfer ( http://www.rolfinguk.co.uk/)
Hayley is currently making a new research and tour for Still in the City, on integrating pre-school children into the professional work and further breaking the glass wall between audience and performer. Hayley’s intrigue in making this new research and performances is in how we can learn further from the honest and heartfelt movement of young children.
