The Urge of Being is a creative expedition and workshop on the sailing boat LAFRI.
Led by Daniela Marcozzi I Marcozzi Contemporary Theater in collaboration with the sailing&art project LAFRIonArt&Beyond, by the Captain and artist Nikolas Piperas.

From Volos to Lesvos
North Aegean Sea, Greece
We’ll navigate the North Aegean Sea, dive into movement and voice training, sensorial training sessions, embodiment, movement research, creative writing.
We’ll live communally and co-create a site-specific performance born from the journey itself!
This immersive experience offers a creative laboratory for performing artists, interdisciplinary creators, and researchers.
The expedition includes an initial dry-land workshop, 10 days of sailing in the Aegean Sea on the sailing boat LAFRI and a final workshop and site-specific performance to our final destination (Lesbos)
The Urge of Being is a four-phase expedition:
– Online preparation
– Land-based orientation workshop
– 10-day sailing and creative exploration
– Final workshop and site-specific performance

Costs for participants:
Costs Single cabin: 1293€ Shared cabin: 1133€ This amount will be paid in installments EARLY BIRD BY APRIL 25TH Single cabin: 1213€ Shared cabin: 1053€
Contact details:
The costs includes: daily creative workshop in different locations and on the boat, boat expenses, fuel, water, food on board, port fees, accommodation.
The costs doesn’t include: drinks, cleaning, cooking, helping the skipper with sailing the boat.
