Applications are now open for RIPPLEFFECT, a dynamic seven-day intensive for choreographers and dancers ready to deepen their practice, expand their creative voice, and grow through meaningful mentorship.
This unique program blends theoretical exploration, practical creation, technical training, and performance opportunities in an environment that nurtures bold artistic development.
What to Expect:
Two program tracks for Choreographic Apprentices:
• Choreography for the Stage – create a live performance piece to be presented in the final showcase
• Choreography for the Screen – develop an original dance film to be screened at the culmination of the week
Individual mentorship with world-renowned artists:
Apprentices will work closely with over five professional mentors to expand their choreographic toolkit and refine their creative process. Past mentors include Candace Brown, Justin Conte, Erica Sobol, Destini Rogers, Teddy Tedholm, and producer Stacie Flood-Popp. For our Summer Academy we are excited to bring on dance filmmaker Cailin Manning as the resident Dance + Film mentor!
Performance and creation-based learning:
The week includes daily classes, rehearsals, feedback sessions, and studio time, leading to a final community showcase featuring both live works and dance films.
Audition-based casting for Dancers:
Dancers will audition midweek and be cast in choreographers’ works. They will also train daily in open classes with each mentor.
New this summer – Choreographic Assistants:
This role is ideal for dancers interested in learning how to support choreographers in a professional rehearsal setting while continuing to develop their own performance skills.
