The Royal Swedish Ballet, led by Artistic Director Nicolas Le Riche, is recruiting a senior Rehearsal Director specialised in male technique and partnering.

As rehearsal director you are involved in the artistic development of our dancers so that together we can reach the high artistic level we strive for on an individual level as well as on an overall performance level. This includes continuously coaching dancers to reach their highest potential through giving daily classes, coaching and giving feedback in relation to rehearsals and performances.
Your input and engagement during class and rehearsals are key functions to fulfil the artistic vision of the artistic director. You will participate in the assessment and evaluation of the dancers to be able to follow up and report on their development.
You will be part of a team of seven rehearsal directors and will also work closely with guest choreographers and their assistants. You will also have a close collaboration with our administrative staff at the ballet as well as other colleagues at The Royal Swedish Opera House involved in performances.
Your profile
You should have a formal education from a renowned classical ballet school and several years of experience from a major dance company. We are recruiting a rehearsal director with excellent artistic input specialised in male technique and partnering. You should have good leadership and management skills and experience in giving classes, coaching, rehearsing and planning productions in order to reach the quality expected on set deadlines. Excellent branch awareness is required in order to assure our constant development.
Since you are part of a large team, leading rehearsals of up to 60 people, you will be expected to collaborate with many different colleagues so you need to have good communication skills and be collaborative. To succeed in this role, you should have a positive attitude and be able to adapt easily to change and contribute to improvements in an easy way to enable us to achieve the common goals.
About the employment
The position is a one-year contract, full time, with start during spring 2023 according to agreement. Conditions are set according to central and local collective agreements. A six-day consecutive work week including evenings.
