Dancers Needed

Dates:
2-week residency arriving in Santa Cruz, Ca on September 5th and finishing the last show on September 19th.

Shows:
3 days of performance September 17th, 18th, and 19th at The 418 Project in downtown Santa Cruz.

Food:
Food will be provided. It is a plant-based household. Self-cooking.

Housing:
You will have your own room at our property in Aptos, Ca.

Payment:
The dancer will receive an $800 stipend after the last show on the 19th.

Travel:
Dancers will be expected to find their own way to and from the bay area if they are not local. Dancers will be transported to and from the rehearsal space.

Rehearsals:
Expect 6 hours of rehearsals 6 days a week.

Capability:
Dancers must be professionally trained with contemporary movement capability. Theatre/Acting experience would be helpful.

About the work:
I’d rather be a cyborg is an interactive performance and installation that combines dance, film, sound, light, costume, and new technology to explore the bodies hybridization with the technological advancement of the 4th industrial revolution. Cyborg is a collaborative creation between choreographer Nathan Hirschaut, New media and Technology artist Avital Meshi, Sound and Light director Michael Masaru Flora, and director of Video and Photo Treyden Chiaravalloti, Cyborg plans to both raise awareness and provoke interaction for audience members to explore the effects and defects of our digital world.
