Open Call for contemporary dance, circus, and performance short pieces as part of the FREI ART FESTIVAL.
Where: Studio Pro Arte, Freiburg, Germany

Deadline for applications: 19. June 2025
Artists from around the world are invited to apply with pieces up to 15 minutes long. The application deadline is June 19, 2025. A maximum of 6 pieces will be selected.
We offer:
-A performance during the festival on Wednesday, September 17, 2025
-Technical and lighting rehearsal on the day of the performance
-Visibility in the festival program and marketing materials
-Professional video and photo documentation of the performance for free use
-A workshop voucher worth €50 per participant (maximum 6 per piece) for the Frei Art Festival, valid for everyone present on the evening of the performance (e.g. a duet with two performers and a choreographer = three vouchers).
-Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to win one of the following prizes:
A performance at Dance Festival Malta 2026 (including fee)
A performance at Detours Festival Brussels 2026
A one-week residency at Studio Pro Arte with accommodation in 2026
Additional prizes are currently under negotiation.
Important information: No fees or travel expenses will be paid.
Applicants will be notified of the results on July 1. A confirmation of participation is required by July 7, 2025.
