Oulu Dance Hack 2019 – Body of Light is a oneweek dance/technology intensive exploring the relationships between the moving body and responsive lighting.

Oulu Dance Hack is an annual residency that brings professional dance and media artists from all over the world to Northern Finland for a week of creative exploration of using technology in a performance context. Organised by dance/tech veterans TaikaBox, in association with Oulu University of Applied Sciences, this year’s Hack will be part of LUMO – Oulu Festival of Light.
Day one is an introductory workshop, on day 2 we are joined by a selection of students and split into 3 groups, each using different equipment. Groups will be mentored in the creation of short performance sketches or installations over 3 days. By the evening of day 5, we will present our results as part of the LUMO festival, continuing the presentations over the weekend.
We can provide accommodation for some artists, as well as a contribution towards travel expenses.
