The International Screendance Competition is open to international artists (film directors, choreographers, video-makers, dancers, musicians, sound designers, etc…) willing to accept the challenge of creating innovative, courageous short dance films with a strong cinematic impact and a provocative storytelling.

La Danza in 1 Minuto – One Minute International Competition
Applicants are invited to submit a one-minute dance film, of any kind, as an expression of a contemporary, story, through their own vision and/or reinterpretation of the body in motion.
This competition features an overall Best Film Prize and 2 special prizes:
●Special Prize 1 Minute Z Generation, a focus dedicated to young creativity;
this prize is awarded exclusively to artists and creatives born after 1 January 1996 (<27).
●Special Prize Faune, a prize dedicated to the best contemporary 1-minute dance film reinterpretation of the mythological figure of Faune, drawing also from its celebrated 1912 Nižinsky/Debussy staging.
●Prize Awarded by the audience through an online voting system and dedicated APP.
La Danza in 1 Minuto – International Competition Beyond One Minute| Zed Festival
Section focusing on quality international dance films in between 2 and 20 minutes duration, strengthens the collaboration with ZED Festival Internazionale Videodanza, Bologna (Italy).
The selected films will in fact merge into ZED Festival short dance film program 2024. This section aims to showcase an heterogenous panorama on quality international dance films released no earlier than 2020.
This competition section includes prizes for Best Film, Best Storytelling, Best Choreography for the Screen and a Special Mention for Best Performer, awarded by a jury of experts.
Among the novelties in this section:
●Special Z Generation Prize, awarded by a special jury composed of students from the DAMS (Department of Arts, Music and Performing Arts) of the Universities of Turin and Bologna.
As for the ONE MINUTE section, the prize will be awarded to artists and creatives born after 1 January 1996 (<27).
Finally, the audience of ZED Festival will assign an Audience Award.
ZED Festival | VR 360° DANCE FILM COMPETITION
Focused on international short dance films related to dance, choreography and movement, specifically meant to be seen on a VR headset, with no duration limits and released no early then 2020; throughout the whole duration of the Festival two VR corners will be available with several VR headsets to present selected works
Once again this year, the award ceremony will take place at two different times:
– 11 June 2024, dedicated to the ONE MINUTE section, in collaboration with Interplay Festival Internazionale Danza Contemporanea, at Lavanderia a Vapore, Collegno – Torino (Italy)
– 6 July 2024 dedicated to the BEYOND ONE MINUTE section within ZED Festival Internazionale Videodanza at Cinema Odeon, Bologna (Italy).
