This season, our inquiry is drawn toward exploring movement as a regenerative, living practice, one that nourishes our bodies, our artistic work, and the ecosystems we inhabit.

We welcome dance workshop proposals that explore movement as a means of ecological awareness and approach the dancing body as a living, multidimensional organism, inherently interconnected with its environment. Practices that nurture relational sensitivity—an embodied way of listening and responding to the living networks that connect us with one another and with the world around us.

We are especially interested in:

– approaches rooted in eco-somatics that engage with the intersections of dance, ecology, and community, and drawing from the principles of permaculture and deep ecology.

– site-specific practices in natural environments that invite participants to engage directly with the textures, rhythms, and dynamics of the landscapes they inhabit. We welcome proposals that
consider space not merely as a backdrop, but as an active collaborator in the creative process; where movement arises in response to the land, weather, soundscape, and the living ecosystems of each site.

– workshops that invite participants into process-oriented, participatory, and reflective formats. We seek pedagogies and facilitators that treat movement as a learning field, where experience
is valued over external validation, and every gesture is honored as part of an evolving dialogue between body, environment, and artistic expression.

– practices that expand our understanding of dance as a political, cultural, and ecological force—capable of cultivating awareness, resilience, and transformation, through a deeper connection with ourselves, others, and the more-than-human world.

Since this is an artist-run, independent project, with most team members working voluntarily, we are unable to provide feedback for applications that are not accepted. Spots are limited and applications are numerous each year, so difficult decisions are made based on a combination of factors. Please know that selection for this program does not reflect the value or significance of your work.
