Goa Dance Residency is a 3-month Intensive Contemporary Dance training and performance project in India, with 10 internationally renowned teachers.

The residency brings together Indian and International dancers, teachers and choreographers for 3 months of rigorous contemporary dance practice and performance. We engage in intensive training and research in Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, Instant Composition, Repertory, Choreographic Methodologies, Somatics, Feldenkrais, Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation.
The afternoon sessions are dedicated to creating new work with guest choreographers, experiencing the creative processes of our faculty, learning repertoire and developing your performance skills.
Where?
Jungle Dance is a community-run space consisting of 3 dance studios, fully functional theatre, cafe, permaculture project, swimming pool and accommodations all set within the vibrant international creative community of Arambol, North Goa. Located on the coast of the Arabian sea and nestled within the jungle, our home is the perfect nourishing environment for rigorous training and intensive research.

How to apply:
We require the registration form www.goadanceresidency.com/registration to be completed in full, a CV/bio, a brief statement of intention and a video of you dancing. Applications will be confirmed throughout the registration period, as they arrive, on a first come-first served basis.
We have space for a group of 30 dancers and offer the possibility of applying for scholarships.
Registrations will not be accepted beyond October 31st
Once notified that your application is successful a deposit of €200 is required to secure your place.

– 40 hours of tuition a week – evening and weekend rehearsal space – regular stage performance opportunities (incl. recordings)

– 3 nutritious vegetarian meals per day including mid-morning refreshment and unfiltered water and ginger lemon tea throughout the day (Single occupancy and non-residential places are available upon request). Our programme is a first for India, in that we provide a full range of contemporary dance practices in-line with international institutions. Our pricing and scholarship programme provides a space for all, to train in broad-ranging contemporary dance practices together, irrespective of nationality or economic background.
