MASDANZA, the International Contemporary Dance Festival of the Canary Islands, announces the opening of applications for its Solo and Choreography Contests as part of its 31st edition, to be held in 2026.

The 31MASDANZA Solo & Choreography Contests will take place on Thursday October 15, Friday October 16, and Saturday October 17, 2026.
Selected participants will compete in each category for the Jury Awards, the Acorán Award—granted by the Canary Islands artistic community—and the Audience Awards.
MASDANZA’s impact as a leading international artistic platform is reinforced by multiple collaboration agreements with programmers, institutions, and festivals at regional, national, and international levels. Participants will also be eligible for Special Awards granted by programmers, directors and representatives from festivals and theatres around the world.

The call for entries will be open from Wednesday March 4, until Friday, April 17, 2026, allowing creators from around the world to apply and be part of one of the most prestigious contemporary dance festivals on the international scene.
