Ook’ot International Dance Festival offers rigorous training for dedicated students and professionals within a supportive community of high calibre artists from around the world.

The festival is curated and founded by the internationally travelled DANCE MONKS, Rodrigo Esteva (Mexico City) and Mirah Moriarty (San Francisco). Ook’ot is located at Kankabal, a beautifully converted hacienda on the outskirts of the ancient town of Izamal, México- only 1.5 hours from Merida International Airport, Yucatán.
8 DAYS OF INTENSIVE PRACTICE:
8:30 am Breakfast
10 am Find Your Voice with Rodrigo Esteva & Mirah Moriarty [San Francisco/Mexico City]
11:30 am Anti-Gravity: Contemporary Technique with Evangelos Poulinas [Berlin/Greece]
1 pm Experimental Flamenco with Erika Suarez [Xalapa]
2:30 pm Lunch break
4 pm Orixas of the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora with Yanique Hume [Jamaica]
7 pm Dinner
Fri/Sat evening Conversations with the Artists and Films
SUNDAY Day of Rest/ Swimming or Optional Excursion to the renowned Chichen Itza
DATES: January 6-14 (Arrival on Jan. 5; Departure on January 15)
COST: $900 USD includes: 5 daily classes with renowned faculty, shared housing on site, chef-cooked meals, transport to/from airport and access to the beautiful grounds and swimming pool
SCHOLARSHIPS: Applications for limited Merit-based & Work-Trade Scholarships are available for those in need.
