Irmgard Bartenieff (1900-1981) developed movement repatterining principles and tools suitable for everyone. She drew extensively from the work of her teacher, then later colleague, Rudolf Laban (1879-1958).
These somatic movement education classes use the Bartenieff Fundamentals Principles, guided and improvisational movement exploration.

Alexandra Baybutt is an artist, movement educator and researcher. She gained her Certification in Laban Movement Analysis/Bartenieff Fundamentals and Somatic Studies through LSSI/Janet Kaylo’s programme in 2010, accredited by LIMS. She assisted Karen Studd and Laura Cox on the first CMA programme in Edinburgh, 2012-2013. She has been teaching LBMS (Laban/Bartenieff Movement System) on modular movement analysis programmes in Belgium, China and the Netherlands, in workshops in the UK and Europe, in Higher Education, and at contemporary dance professional training contexts including Independent Dance. She also holds vinyasa and pregnancy yoga teaching certificates from YogaLondon and has taught in studios in London and privately since 2013. Alexandra is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator with ISMETA, with full teaching insurance.
