Online Audition for FOCAR: Advanced Course in Choreography for Architecture – program for creators interested in exploring choreography for non-traditional and architectural spaces

FOCAR is the new program of Instável – an 18 weeks course (from March to July) designed for creators in the contemporary dance field interested in exploring choreography for non-traditional and architectural spaces. The students will have the chance to learn and create with the coaching of national and international tutors – architects, performers, choreographers, festival directors, and more. With a modular structure and a deep disciplinary intersection, this course will develop artistic education and investigation in it’s connection with architecture, in Theoretical, Practical and Creation Modules and also different meetings with artists and programmers.
In the more than 20 years of Instável — Centro Coreográfico, one of the basic pillars that has been cemented – traversal to many creations and traineeships – is the critic analysis of the presence of the body in the space, the importance of the relationships in between dance and architecture in the creation and the demystification of the concept of “stage”.
A new course such as FOCAR – Intensive Course in Choreography for Architecture – could not be a simple coincidence, but rather an expected consequence of the continuous work of Instável, that follows the tendency of the current needs and the paradigms of contemporary creation.

Monday-Friday / 15:30 – 19h30 pm (a few modules will have different schedules )
How to apply / register: On this online audition, we expect you to upload 2 vídeos:
– One of you performing and moving;
– One of choreographic composition on site specific;
We also ask for you to submit your biography and a letter of interest (in document or video).

Costs for participants:
Registration: 180€ + Course: 1368€ (total payment until February’22);
or 1468€ (628€ until February’22 + 3 monthly installments of 280€)
