SEEKING CHOREOGRAPHERS, DANCERS AND VISUAL ARTISTS

In 2022 this exciting programme welcomes a partnership with Chapter creating the opportunity for collaborative exploration, investigation and play between choreographic and visual artists, with the support and guidance of figures from the dance and visual arts sectors.

Artists will be given two weeks of paid studio time to explore ideas together in collaboration with a company of dancers. Choreographers and visual artists will be offered supportive mentorship and guidance during this time with Mentors Jo Fong and Sioned Huws. Scroll down to learn more about Jo and Sioned.

Laboratori creates a safe, open space for innovation and experimentation in which to try out new ideas, to develop practice and build new creative relationships across art forms.

We are seeking the following choreographers, visual artists and dancers:

Two Choreographers

Wales-based choreographers at any stage of their career are invited to apply for the National Dance Company Wales and Chapter 2022 Laboratori. Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to spend two paid weeks in the studio under the mentorship of highly experienced choreographers, to explore their artistic practice, investigate new and existing ideas and develop creative relationships across art forms. We are pleased to be working with artists Jo Fong and Sioned Huws as choreographic mentors.

Choreographers will have the opportunity to either collaborate with a visual artist or to work independently. The focus of the week will be on collaboration, experimentation and development, and whilst there will be an opportunity to share your work with peers there is no pressure to create specific outcomes.

Inclusive Fee: £1,100 plus travel and accommodation where necessary.
