What do we know about what we experience when we dance?
If dance can “reveal the truth about the potential for relating to the world,” what exactly should we look for when practicing dance?
The workshop will focus on our body and how actions, movements, thoughts, and imagination merges to shape our experience. We will explore direct paths to experiences and the potentialities that can emerge and ask what we can cull from the process of making such experiences. We will play with structures from dance, languages, theatre, sound, and visual reference and articulate our attention and awareness within them. We will find our approach toward individual creativity and group exchange. Listen, express, reflect, and imagine, and we won’t forget to get lost in the rich embodied experience of the present moment.
When everything clicks together, we are immersed in actuality and potentiality through ourselves to the world.
Michael is commissioned to create and share artistic experiences utilizing various choreographic expressions. His works have been presented in various festivals and venues, including Israel Museum (Jerusalem), Suzanne Dellal Center (Tel Aviv), Springboard dance (Montreal), Holland Dance (Den Haag), Nowy Teater (Warsaw), Théâtre National de Chaillot (Paris), Kenzo fashion house (Paris), Schauspielhaus (Hamburg), Open Look (St.Petersburg), WhiteBox Artspace (N.Y.C), and more.
Most recently, he has been delighted to communicate, collaborate and perform with a few leading and engaging institutions in Italy; Festival Internazionale Fuori Programma (Rome), HangarTfest (Pesaro), Festival Gender Bender (Bologna), Festival Oriente Occidente (Rovereto), and the new and exciting Nuova X program (Torino).
