Theo Canham-Spence is searching for volunteers to assist in his research focussing on how mental illness manifests in the body, opportunities are UK based and International.
Where: London, United Kingdom
When: September – October 2019
Deadline for applications: August 30th 2019
Description of opportunity: In preparation for my first solo exhibition I will be hosting a series of workshops throughout September and October 2019 to assist in my research development for my project Meet Heavy.
Meet Heavy will be exploring how mental illness manifests in the living body. It will be focussing on how it surfaces through the subconscious and the reactive body as well as how we can use gesture to articulate these experiences as intelligent beings.
Dance experience is not a necessity as the project is observing the living and moving body; not the dancing body. Please share with your non-dancer acquaintances if this will be something of interest to them. Just an interest in exploring the moving body, its voice, and your relationship with it is necessary.
Research will be cultivated through workshops throughout September and October 2019 on Sundays in London. The content, location and amount of workshops is yet to be confirmed, but they will average 6 hours each. There will be opportunities for you to build research in your own space and time if being it ever becomes a challenge for you to attend workshops.
Opportunities for involvement for UK Based AND International applicants.
To apply, please e-mail interest to email@example.com with ‘Meet Heavy’ in Subject Header.
