OLTRE workshop & Masterclass is a new platform in Milano dedicated to professional students and professional dancers.

Luca-Andrea Lino Tessarini hails from Basel, Switzerland. He began his dance training at the Ballettschule Brigitte Dunkel at age seven in his hometown of Kaiseraugst. At the age of nine he went on to further his dance education at Ballettschule des Theater Basel, The John Cranko School in Stuttgart and finished with a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Performing Arts in Mannheim under the direction of Birgit Keil. After completing his Masters he joined the National Youth Ballet of Germany under the artistic direction of Kevin Haigen and Yohan Stegli. A year later he joined the Hamburg Ballet under the direction of John Neumeier where he danced and choreographed for three seasons before joining the Nederlands Dans Theater 1 in 2015. At NDT1 he has worked with numerous choreographers, such as Jiri Kylian, Crystal Pite, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, Damien Jalet, William Forsythe, Yoann Bourgeois, Imre & Marne van Opstal, Edward Clug and many more. Alongside his work as a dancer he has also been feautured in Fashion and Film as a Talent and Movement Director. His works as a Coach and Choreographer in contemporary dance can be seen globally.

Luca-Andrea Tessarini’s masterclasses kick off with some practical, technical tips and tricks that’ll help the dancers gently shift their focus inwards for a while and keep the conversation between willpower and body going – where do i want (any) movement to originate from (?)

Dancers explore improvisation as a way to tap into their unique movement style and opinion. through exercises and phrasework, they’ll focus on finding personal, genuine ways to create and shape decision making in pre-set choreography.
